Manual or automatic?
Should I learn to drive an automatic or a stick-shift car?
It depends a lot on what you think you need. Most cars have become automatic transmissions, but many manual transmission cars are still around. You can always upgrade your driver's license to allow you to drive a manual transmission car as well, in a relatively simple way.
It may be better to learn in an automatic car as you can focus better on driving while you are learning, because you don't have to think about changing gears.
How do I change my driver's license from an automatic transmission car to a manual transmission?
First, a new driver's license is applied for at the district magistrate. Next, a driving test is ordered from Frumherji for a manual transmission car, and upon completion of the test, the student is now licensed to drive a manual transmission car.
Does it matter whether I have an automatic or manual transmission car during a practice drive?
No, it doesn't matter, you can take a practice drive in either an automatic or a manual transmission car, regardless of which test you are ultimately taking.
The studies
Does the program include a textbook?
All teaching materials are built into the online driving school.
Students have access to the teaching system 24/7.

After completing Ökuskóli 3, students either go directly to the written driving test or take more driving lessons, either with a driving instructor or a practice driving instructor.

The exams
How do I pass my driving test on the first try?
Driving instructors at the Driving Academy follow students through both practical and theoretical learning.
The driving instructor has an overview of how students are doing in the theoretical study and the goal is to get students through the written exam on the first attempt.
Our driving school has built-in practice tests that students can practice and also see for themselves how they stand before taking the written test.
How can I prepare for the exams?
You will come to the test very well prepared after going through the Driving Academy's driving school.
The program is structured in such a way that you need to complete sessions in order to continue to the next session.
Once you have completed all the study sessions, you will have access to practice exams.
We recommend that students do well on the practice exams and be prepared to pass them.
If a student is confident in passing the practice exams, there is every chance that they will pass the written exam on the first try.
